Floorskillz International 5 & Stomp The Yard 2on2 Bboy Battle

Well, been quite a while since I've posted anything but hey, here it is. 16th and 17th March 2007 will be Floorskillz 5th anniversary. Give it up, c'mon! SG represent! Last year FS, I teamed up with Bboy Zee and Bboy Oz from BFC. We didnt made it to the next round but we sure left an impact, haha. This year I'm teaming up with Bboy Abu (Simple Motion Crew) and Bboy Monster (Six Feet Under).

I missed outs on the first three Floorskillz cos mainly due to NS and nobody to join with, haha. I'm the only one still standing strong representin da_S.O.U.L. In case ya'all don't understand that acronym, it's da_Six Of Us Lah. Cos back in '98, we called ourselves Groun' Slammerz Crew. GSC in short. Thats cos GSC also stands for Grupo Capoeira Singapura. We first did a bboy showcase with back then in 1999 with Transformers, Wan Khalik, Yan Kecik, Yan, Mahathir, Nonet, Rizalludin, Sheikh (Headpoppaz), Farhan (now RF); Fudge Style, Fadzully, Jatt and there was Ken from Rock Da True Skool (RDTS). It was for MTV asia Millenium party at Cuppage alley.

Then came Mestre Ousado in '99 and he changed the local Capoeira group to Singapore Capoeira Association, Argola De Ouro. So it's time we changed the name too. After much thought put into it (took me and Anis a bus ride, bus no. 36 from Marine Parade to town, haha, to think about the name) we decided since there was six of us, myself, Wan, Dhan, Anis, Fuzzy and Faizul. So da_S.O.U.L it was. Our last bboy showcase under the name Groun' Slammerz Crew was on 17th June 2000 at Takashimaya Civic Centre. It was during the Singapore Arts Festival by National Arts Council and the event was called HYPE! After that showcase, it was all the way da_S.O.U.L represent. Man, so much things happened along the way and still I'm reppin my crew da_S.O.U.L. One by one started to slow down. Sometimes I wonder is it da_S.O.U.L or da_SOLE??? haha, last bboy standing...

Anyways, if any of you people are interested to see a bboy battle, come to Orchard Cineleisure this weekend, 16 & 17 March 2007. Its gonna be heads over heels, trust me. If you people wanna catch me battlin for Stomp The Yard 2on2 bboy battle, it's gonna be at Club MOMO 16 March 2007, free entrance if you mention my crew name for this event, its "KIT KAT CHUNKY".

Drumroll.....and....RESULTS

Jeng Jeng Jeng,

We lost at the butter factory's Dance Off. Yeap that's it. I'm not gonna explain anything, you know like what happened or why we lost. If anything, I would just blame myself for not repping harder, haha. Cos I found out that blaming myself for any loss or mistakes that had been done just keeps making me more focus and alert for future competitions and battles.

Every battle regardless what kinda battle be it a dance battle or battling for a higher position at your workplace, battling for top honours in class or project work, it's all very stressful but that's what keeps us human beings feel more alive than anything else. It's the survival instinct.

Quote for the day, "Don't wait for things to happen, We have to make it happen".

What a night...

We made it to the next round of competition for The Butter Factory's Dance Off. There were ten teams / crews and six proceeds to the next round. Congrats to groups that made it thru and well done to the groups which didn't made it but you guys represented yourself well.

So many things suddenly happen all at the same time, damn. That's why I keep on training and tricking and dancing because it keeps me focus, alert and it always keeps me in "The Zone". Life goes on man. You win some, you loose some. You win, you're happy, excited and you desire more and you pursue further to achieve greater success. You loose, you're sad, disappointed and you feel like everything is crumbling down on you but wait, as soon as the cookie crumbles, pick up all the pieces and re-create everything to what you desire man. Don't go rambling on and on about how you failed, rather you go on and on about how you wanna see a new layout of things. Strategise and execute. If you fail again, do it all over man. Easy come = easy go. Fast cash = fast spent. Easy job = easy you being replaced. Fast food = fast body fat gained. Thats what you get if things are done the easy way, the shortcut method. Take time to think about how things are suppose to be done. Keep on practising on how to handle a situation.

I just can go on and on and on but I have to say this. Sometimes it's just not worth carrying on with things if you know that you're not gonna put in any effort on understanding on how things are suppose to be done. In short it's called, "Oi, wake up your idea! Don't make your problem, my problem".

Subjects needed!!!

I thought research 1 would be similar to research 2. I also thought I could extend my research 1, which I did last year to further develop my research 2 but I was so wrong. My H1 or my research hypothesis for research 1 was "The thickness of the shoe sole will affect the vertical height gained during a back somersault". As simple as it sounds, trust me its not but I've passed my research 1 which is good and at the same time I was hoping that in research 2 I could, hmm like what I've mentioned above, go into further details of the study. *Bhammm*

Now it has come to this. It's a whole new research, new study, new everything lah. I am in need of volunteers (put your hands up people, aww c'mon). 6 male and 6 female subjects, between the age of 21 years - 25 years old. I have to devise a 6 weeks fitness program that has to cater to both the male and female subjects and the program is to boost their anaerobic power as well as their aerobic capacity. Anyone interested??? Haha...you know who to call if you are interested. Remember Health is Wealth. You pay nothing if you sign up for this package. In fact, you are going to gain more than you would expect if you sign up. You will feel the difference after the 6 weeks fitness program. A newer you, fresh, energised, a more toned firmer you. What are you waiting for? Take this oppurtunity, haha. I am so bad of a salesman.

Around 2030hrs I sms Hadi from FS asking him did BFC made it to the next round? Suprisingly, they were the judges choice, nuff' said. Good luck guys for the coming rounds.

Got a show in Bangkok in March. Have to start on the choreography already man, haha. Dunno if the rest of the performers are up and ready, dah karat beb.

I am such a noob

Ok, well here I am still understanding how web logs work. I still am stuck in the "56k dial-up" era. My goodness. Had to do alot of reading and researching on html, xml, css and I came to a conclusion that, keeping it simple is way much less time consuming, haha.

It's good fun to keep learning even though I'm lagging way behind but like I always believe, "Efforts today, rewards tommorrow". That is my secondary school motto. Yuan Ching Secondary to be exact. Class of '98.

Well, this is all for now from me to this we(b) log of mine.

The Awakening

It's been so long since I wanted to do this. I have never written a diary. Found that it was a waste of time. Now, it has come to this. I'm blogging. Keep prepared for the battle.
